Flood!! :(
Lately, there has been a lot of flood in Thailand. Many believe, that it is caused by people cutting down trees to build city and towns. Trees help suck in part of the water which helps protect the land from flood, but once we cut down those trees and create dams, we must we able to control the water. If the water is out of control, it will flood. This flood did not affect my family directly because my house isn't flooded, but it affects me in many way. First of all, I must waste money to buy sandbags, which will help prevent my house from being flooded. Also, due to the flood, the school is closed and which makes learning harder. My family still lives in Bangkok because my grandparents have to come live with us since their house is flooded. I think this crisis will make the country economics go down. Foreigners would not want to travel to Thailand since it is flooded. There are many needs for food, clothing, water, and shelter, I think this will cause the price of many things to go up. I have learned from Mrs. Torie that if there is high demand and the same supply, then the price would rise up. Lastly, I hope wish my friends and teachers who are reading this to have a safe time in Thailand.

Tiger, there have been several times that I also have thought of the supply and demand connection to the floods. It is great to read your connections here as well. I am sorry to hear that your grandparents have been affected by the floods, while at the same time happy that you have been spared. Hopefully nothing has changed since you posted this piece and you and your family are still safe and dry. In what ways do you think learning is harder online? I'd love to get some specific feedback from you. Your opinion is valued.
ReplyDeleteI think that this flood is a punishment from God to us because we cut down trees to build houses and condos. Without trees, there's no way to solve this flood easily because the tree and dirt absorb water. Thailand's economic might go down during the flooding and after because foreigners wouldn't want their vacation ruined by the flood. After this flood, things would definitely have higher price because of lesser supply. Your writing is good but I think that you should put it in paragraphs.
ReplyDeleteMany people don't mention deforestation when they talk about flooding, even though it has alot of effect. It was nice of you to bring that up and even remind me of deforestation and it's effects.I especially liked how you related flood with what we learn which proofs that education can be used in the outside world.Organization could have been better and your many of your ideas could definitely be clarified and further explained. For example the economy and education.
ReplyDeleteTiger, I'm glad you're kind of safe from the flood. You gave me some new information. I never knew that some people thought that it was because of the trees. And yes. When there is a high demand of items, the prices with go up.
